Locations

The locations tab is specifically used to manage Omnichannel functionality in Ginkgo Retail.
To create a new location in inventory, most of the flow will be identical to the single Sales Channel. The only addition will be of Base Buffer Percentage, Inventory Allocation, and assigning of Sales-Channel to a location.

Creating New Location

The following info is required to create a new location in Ginkgo:

POS Info

Online Sale Orders and Return Orders will be posted on PoS on real real-time basis. Apart from online sales, Point of Sale will be able to manage the sales from brick-and-mortar stores as well. Since the system will be SaaS-based, there will be a need to sync data at one location after time intervals.

The following fields are required for the integration of POS:

  1. Pos id

  2. Order posting (toggle)

  3. Inventory sync (toggle)

Order Allocation Limit

We have three kinds of buffers in Ginkgo which are:

  1.  SKU wise buffer

  2. Product type-wise buffer

  3. Location buffer
SKU level buffer has the highest priority during inventory sync. If SKU is not specified then product type buffers will be considered.

SKU Wise Buffer:

● SKU-wise buffer will let users add buffers on SKUs/Barcodes Individually.

● To Add a SKU-wise Buffer, the user should first select the type of Buffer i.e. Percentage or Number.

● After selecting the Buffer type, the user should be able to upload a CSV containing the following Columns:

  1. SKU/Barcode

  2. Buffer (Percentage or Number depending on the user’s selection)

  3. After uploading the CSV file, the report should be generated.

A sample file of how to apply a SKU-wise buffer is available for the user’s convenience.

Product Type Buffer:

  • Users should be able to add buffers on Product Types.

  • These Product types should be fetched from Shopify.

  • Only relevant product types should be shown in a location. For example, Location XYZ has SKUs of Shoes and Jewelry only. The system should fetch only these Product types from Shopify and their relevant SKUs. The remaining ones should be ignored.

  • Users should be able to add a Buffer against each Product Type.

  • Product type buffers can be in the form of Percentages or Numbers depending on the user’s preference.

Location Wise Buffer:

  • Location-wise buffer is required in which system will implement buffer on all inventory of a Location.

  •  Location-wise buffer can be in the form of Percentage or Number depending on the user’s preference.

Threshold:
Threshold Buffer allows merchants more control of their products by reducing inventory for each product available for purchase. When set, the value of Inventory Buffer will be used to deduct from the Shopify inventory amount. You may wish to set an inventory buffer to ensure not run out of stock for certain products.

  • A threshold field is required in the Location-wise buffer card. The threshold is the minimum count of an individual SKU set by the user.
