Within the Ginkgo platform, a media pool refers to a centralized storage repository where users can upload media files. These media files are stored in a structured manner, allowing for easy access and management. Product images will be stored in the media pool and will be linked with the products at the time of product creation.

How to Upload Media File?

  • Initiate the process by selecting the "New Directory" button.

  • Provide a name for the newly created folder.

  • Open the folder and click on the "Upload Media File" button.

  • You can either drag and drop a file or click on the upload icon to add files.

  • Ensure that product images can be sized up to 4472 x 4472 px or 20 megapixels. If the uploaded images do not meet the defined criteria, the system will automatically optimize them.

  • Folders existing on the system, containing images, can be seamlessly uploaded to a media pool.

  • Product display on the website is determined by the image placement number specified in the image name.

  • Images are retrieved based on the Product Code attribute, which corresponds to the handle or barcode of a product.

Note: The user will be able to add 250 images per product at max.

Upload CSV For Alt Text:

CSV for Alt Text is a file to manage or update alternative text for images in a system or platform. Alt text refers to “alternative text“, and is descriptive text associated with an image on a web page.

Users have the functionality to modify product media files, including adjustments to the product media title and alt text. Additionally, users can perform bulk edits to alt text using CSV files. The sync will generate a comprehensive sync report, detailing the outcomes of the synchronization process.
